The 5 Stages of Repurposing content

Repurposing can be the ultimate online strategy for a business or brand as it means content you have already created can have a longer life span on the web and generate another revenue of income for the business.

It is worth noting that revamping and repurposing content are not the same thing. When you revamp a piece of content, you’re continuing to use it for the same purpose it was originally intended but updating it so it remains relevant and attractive to that audience. When you repurpose a piece of content, however, you are doing one of two things (or both): changing the format of the content, and/or changing the target audience for the content.  Remember to keep that in mind.

Idea

Using one piece of quality content at a time you can extend your reach and spread influence using the simple process of strategic distribution through different social media channels

Write

Write an original piece of quality content that is current, actionable, solves a problem, answers questions and is engaging.

Blog

Make sure your content is SEO ready. It is clear and concise and laid out that it flows and is easy to read.

Go Social

Once you have hit publish you need to tell your reader/customers what to do. Share your blog post via social media platforms and drive all traffic back to your website via links in your bio and call to actions on your social media captions and stories.

Repurpose and Repeat

To avoid the blog content dying within one post it is vital that it is repurposed into different formats. Leverage these networks to show the content in multiple formats and this will lead to a wider online distribution. Examples include

  • Email Series
  • Checklist
  • eBook
  • Video
  • Webinar
  • Podcast
  • Free Guides

You can see the importance of why content matters here.

Ultimate Influence

Such a time saving activity means you can focus on creating that one piece of content with leads generated through multiple streams thus having enough content to cover all channels and generate another financial income to the business/brand.
